Brief about Home Hospital: Home Hospital is a project by the Rotary Club of Madras East, Chennai and Rotary Club of Mylapore Uptown, Chennai. They set up ICU setups at patients’ homes at no cost. They provide oxygen cylinders, flow meters, valves, BI-PAP Machine, Para Monitors. The equipment is then collected and circulated among COVID-19 patients

To raise funds that will be used to purchase medical supplies, sanitizers and food for covid patients

India’s current state had significantly worsened, reporting up to 400,000 new cases every 24 hours. Many hospitals were battling to treat patients with a persistent lack of beds and oxygen for those in need. The funds would contribute towards oxygen, medical supplies, masks, sanitizers, food for patients, and oximeters

Bay Area Mask Fundraiser

At a time when masks were in short supply and many were turning towards buying single-use masks that contain plastic, Mango Foundation created a fundraiser and collected money to donate towards cotton mask initiatives in the Bay Area, CA, USA.

Raise awareness about the harmful plastics in single-use masks and support initiatives that make eco-friendly masks.

Clean Start Mobile Hygiene Program

The City of Fremont, City of Newark, and several community partners developed the Clean Start Mobile Hygiene Program to provide much-needed shower and laundry services to our homeless neighbours.

Raised money and awareness for the Clean Start Mobile Program, which helps local homeless neighbours.

The local people who do not have access to sanitary products and clean supplies will benefit from this project.

Achievement of Goals: Raised and donated $1000, which was used to buy supplies by the program team

Sankara Eye Foundation Donation

Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF), USA, founded in 1998 strives hard to eradicate curable blindness in India. The project aim was to help Sankara build four new hospitals in Indore (built in 2020), Mumbai (2021), Bihar(upcoming) and Hyderabad (upcoming).

To help Sankara Eye Foundation cure many more people with visual impairments by donating towards building more hospitals

Those in the rural areas of India who are unable to afford eye care and surgery, as Sankara provides quality eye care free of cost.

Achievement of Goals: Two hospitals have been built and the other two are underway.

Funding raised for the Project: $2000 total ($1000 raised + $1000 matched by Johnson and Johnson Caring Crowd Platform)

Vattamalai Odaikarai Dam

The dam was constructed across the waterbody as a source of water for irrigation to the adjacent agricultural lands. It was found that the waterbody had no source of inflow water, as all the small streams coming down to the water body had either completely dried up over the past 25-30 years or completely blocked down as a result of developmental activities.

The current goals was to help remove the non-native Prosopis Juliflora trees, prevent the regrowth of these invasive trees and construct a linking canal built to divert flood waters from the Amravati river which overflows once in two or three years.

Local communities in Tirpur District, of which nearly fifty families depend on this water body and the surrounding vegetation for grazing the cattle.
